Tending to Care Pledge
It’s time to start ‘seeing’ our caregivers at work! Join us in asking employers to track the caregiving status of their employees.
A recent study found that up to 73% of all employees identify as caregivers. And most of them say their caregiving
responsibilities negatively impact their ability to perform at work. But because the majority of employers don’t
even track the caregiving status of their employees, they don’t know how it impacts their people.
You can’t fix a problem you can’t see.
The pandemic has made visibible what has been invisible for far too long. And employers must keep
looking. Which is why we’ve partnered with organizations like the Parents in Tech Alliance,
Project Matriarch, Milo, Mirza, and others, to ask employers to track the caregiving status of their
employees. If they look, employers will see how caregiving impacts hiring, retention,
promotion, and compensation. And we believe that when companies can see what we’ve
seen, they will do what must be done.
Companies who recognize the impact of caregiving on their employees
will update their policies, practices, culture, and benefits.
And this will create workplaces where everyone -- not just caregivers -- is more likely to thrive!
